Gender equality, equal opportunities and diversity at the Faculty of Fine and Performing Arts
The Faculty of Fine and Performing Arts at Lund University works actively to guarantee a good work environment for staff and students. We have an inclusive attitude and believe that quality is ensured through diversity in terms of gender, ethnic origin, religion or other belief, sexual orientation and disability.
We aim for an even gender balance in all areas of our activities and see this as a self-evident ambition.
Matters concerning gender equality, equal opportunities and diversity are the responsibility of the Faculty Board. There are separate committees for the work environment and gender equality & equal opportunities. The Board is ultimately responsible for strategic considerations and financial incentives to promote gender equality and equal opportunities at the faculty.
The Gender Equality and Equal Opportunities Committee at the Faculty of Fine and Performing Arts has overall responsibility for developing the work on these issues at the faculty. The faculty is also represented on the University’s Committee on Gender Equality and Equal Opportunities.
The chair of the Gender Equality and Equal Opportunities Committee at the Faculty of Fine and Performing Arts is responsible for reporting to the Faculty Board and also provides support to the departments at the faculty.
The heads of the academies/departments or equivalent have overall responsibility for ensuring gender equality and equal opportunities are taken into account. All those in management positions at the departments have a responsibility to take these issues into account in their activities. Departments or other units also have the possibility of drawing up their own gender equality and/or equal opportunities plans based on the existing faculty plan.
